Choose work for Zanbase Agent

Learn which workspace jobs Zanbase Agent can help with and how its tools and your permissions limit each request.

Zanbase Agent

Zanbase Agent uses tools to read workspace information and make changes you request. The available work depends on its selected tools, the place you ask, and your permissions.

Before you start

You need the workspace member, admin, or owner role to start a new chat, and the workspace needs available AI credits to send a request; see Pricing for allowances. Open a Zanbase Agent you can access. Check Workspace tools on its page to see which workspace actions it is configured to use.

Give a specific request

  1. Open Chat actions beside Edit persona on the Zanbase Agent page.
  2. Select New chat.
  3. In Ask anything… “@” to mention, name the item and the result you want, then press Enter.
  4. Review the reply and any action results before making your next request.

Examples of supported work, when the relevant tools are selected:

  • Read a doc or create a doc with text in chat.
  • Read recent conversation messages and summarize them.
  • List project tasks, create a task, change its status, or assign it to a teammate.
  • Query rows in a table.
  • List workspace resources and members to identify the right destination or person.

Good to know

Zanbase Agent acts with the asking person’s permissions. Selecting more tools does not let it read or change items you cannot access. Actions that need approval pause for your decision in chat.

The tools available in a call differ from chat. In particular, Zanbase Agent in a call can create and assign tasks on request, but cannot write a doc body.
