Upload and share files

Create a file in a folder, preview or download it, and share access with people or teams.

Files

Upload a file to keep it alongside the work it supports. You can choose its folder, preview supported media, and share it through the same access controls as other resources.

Before you start

Creating a file or folder requires workspace Member, Admin, or Owner standing. To create inside a folder, open it and use its New resource button; you need Can edit or Full access on that folder. Changing sharing requires Full access to the file.

Upload a file

  1. Select New resource: the plus beside Workspace in the sidebar, or the button on the destination folder’s page.
  2. Choose Files and links, then Files.
  3. In File, choose the file from your device.
  4. Select Create. The file takes its name from the upload.

Create a folder

  1. In the sidebar, select New resource, the plus beside Workspace.
  2. Choose Files and links, then Folders. Zanbase creates an untitled folder and opens it.
  3. Select the title and type the folder’s name.

To upload into it, use the New resource button on the folder’s page, or drop files onto the page.

Preview and share

  1. Open the file to see its preview or upload status.
  2. Select Download if you need a local copy after the upload completes.
  3. Select Share.
  4. Use Add people or teams…, or Add people or teams, or invite by email… when available, to select a recipient.
  5. Choose the recipient’s access level.

Good to know

Preview availability depends on the file type. Uploads are checked against file-size limits and available workspace storage. The app shows an error if the file is too large or storage is full; see Pricing for storage allowances.

A containing folder can also supply access to the file. See roles and permissions before changing sharing.
