Choose project views

Add views to a project and choose how the same tasks appear.

Projects

Project views show the same tasks in different layouts. Use a board for grouped cards, a table for cells, or a date-based layout for scheduled work.

Before you start

Open a project you can access. Adding a view requires Can edit or Full access on the project.

Switch between views

  1. Select Board to open the board included with a new project.
  2. Select Table to open its spreadsheet view.

These are the initial view names. A collaborator can rename a view.

Add another layout

  1. Select New view, the plus button beside the tabs.
  2. Choose a layout from the menu. Zanbase adds the view and opens it, with its name ready to edit.
  3. Type a name for the view and press Enter.

The New view menu offers:

  • Table: tasks in rows and columns.
  • List: tasks in a list.
  • Gallery: tasks as tiles.
  • Board: tasks as cards in lanes.
  • Calendar: tasks arranged by date.
  • Gantt: tasks shown as bars along a time axis.
  • Chart: an aggregate chart of task data.

Rename a view

  1. Select the view’s tab.
  2. Click its name and type the new one.
  3. Press Enter, or click away, to save. Esc keeps the old name.

Good to know

A view’s layout cannot change after creation. Add another view for a different layout. To remove a view, open the menu on its tab and select Delete view. Changing a shared view needs Can edit or Full access; changing a locked view needs Full access.

Use Plan a project to add tasks and dates before exploring date-based views.
